 More than 75,000 people will enjoy oysters and entertainment at the Whitstable Oyster Festival held through 27 July. The Kent celebration includes St. James Day (25 July), for the patron saint of oysters and oyster fisheries.

Protestant Irishmen will fill the streets on 12 July, Orangemen’s Day. Accompanied by fife and drum bands, dressed bowler hats and orange sashes identifying their lodge carrying black umbrellas, the men give honor to King William and his win at The Battle of Boyne.

Hope for sunshine on 15 July, St. Swithin’s Day. We want to avoid 40 days of rain, especially during the Notting Hill Carnival Aug. 24-25 and the Late Summer Bank Holiday (25 Aug.).  The second largest street festival in the world, it attracts 2 million people each year.
