Winter 2012

When Baby New Year arrives on 1 January, I will be taking a day off to relax and put away my Christmas decorations. Life can get a bit dull once all the ornaments are packed away and the greenery has been taken down. Keep things interesting by celebrating all things Aussie on 26 January, Australia Day. Pop a Foster’s and throw some shrimp on the barbie. Then visit In a Nutshell to read up on the colonization of our only continent-country.  If you keep going, you’ll find out how to help your children navigate the social networks.

Keep toasty this winter by snuggling with your sweetie on Valentine’s Day, 14 February. Warm your belly with lemon and sugar pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, 21 February. Find another way to ward off the chill on St. Patrick’s Day. The number of pints of Guinness poured on the holiday is more than double that of an average day. Join us in lifting your mug to Ireland patron’s saint on March 17. Spring begins on March 20. Then we spring forward with our clocks on March 25 with the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.

Before you get too many pints down, find out just how good your vocabulary is in Treehouse Games. Then visit Treehouse Trivia to read about bug manners and the secrets of the universe.
